Abhijit Banerjee, Nirmala Sitharaman share similar views in JNU

Indian-American Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee’s remark on the current Indian economy has been criticised by some of the leaders from the BJP. Banerjee told that finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman was his contemporary at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi. He further added they shared almost similar views on specific issues.

India inks on Kartarpur corridor

The Indian government on Thursday inked an agreement with Pakistan to operationalise a cross-border corridor to Darbar Sahib gurdwara in Kartarpur. Both the countries are adamant about opening the passage on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion. India on Monday condemned Pakistan for scrapping the postal services between the two nations. Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Pakistan “without any prior notice or information has stopped sending postal department’s letter to India”.

Veterinary surgeons in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday removed 52kg of plastic and other waste materials from the belly of a cow. The cow had problems in eating, defecating and urinating. Tanuvas clinic director C Balasubramnian performed the surgery of the cow and removed all the waste materials. The cow is now recuperating

Tamil Nadu (TN) government on Tuesday declared 23 public holidays for 2020 for government offices and commercial banks along with cooperative banks.

61% of milk samples fail to pass quality test in Ahmedabad

Adulteration in milk is common in India. Of late in a sample survey in Ahmedabad, it is found that 61 per cent of milk samples collected from several parts of Ahmedabad failed to pass in quality test. National Milk Safety and Quality Survey stated this.
