PM picks plastic with garbage workers

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi to discourage the use of plastic, the PM sat with the group of women and picked plastic with them on Wednesday in Mathura. The PM met with some garbage workers as part of the “Swachhta Hi Seva” programme. Later the garbage worker women were honoured.

Gujarat & Uttarakhand Govts. provide respite to traffic violators

Gujarat government on Tuesday has given a respite to the traffic offenders. Of late the new motor vehicles act has been imposed all over the country. Gujarat government has decided to reduce the penalties by 25% to 90%, then those notified by the Central government. State government said that penalties are reduced on the humanitarian and compassionate ground. While Uttarakhand government slashed the penalties by 50 percent.

First cross border pipeline cuts fuel prices in Nepal

India and Nepal on Tuesday unveiled the first cross border oil product pipeline, which would help Nepal to cut its fuel price by Rs 2 per litre. This 69 KM pipeline scheme was jointly inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepali counterpart KP Sharma through a video conference.

Pune cops search academic flat in Noida

Pune police on Tuesday searched Delhi University’s, Assistant Professor Hany Babu’s Noida flat for six hours. The police operation is linked to the Elgar Parishad probe. Related to this case, several academics were arrested for their links with the Maoists. Later the professor said, “Keeping books on terrorism doesn’t make me a terrorist”. Meanwhile Delhi University Teachers’ Association has condemned the police act and described it is an attack on the freedom of expression.

Ravidas devotees to offer prayer on 10th of every month

Over hundred devotees of Ravidas  gathered near the demolished temple site on Tuesday and offered prayers on the road under the presence of heavy police surveillance. The devotees raised their voice for the reconstruction of temple on the same spot and said large number of people will gather here on the 10th of every month to force their demand.

Delhi Govt. to set up 3 hospitals in 6 months

National capital will see three new hospitals in just six months’ time. The government has taken this step to boost the medical facility in Delhi. Its capacity would be twice of the famed Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML). Delhi government on Tuesday claimed that 85% of the work of Indira Gandhi Hospital has already been completed.

AAP takes credit for reducing pollution in Delhi: Tiwari

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday has accused the Delhi Government for taking the credit for reducing pollution in Delhi. According to him the Central Government took the initiative to clean the air pollution of the capital.

Naidu & TDP aides put under house arrest

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and several of his Telugu Desam Party aides have been placed under house arrest on Wednesday. It is done to stop them from taking part in a huge protest against the government run by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Police have banned large gatherings to avoid any chaotic incident.

At last Pakistan acknowledges Kashmir, as a part of India

Pakistan, which has been trying its best to raise the Kashmir issue at the international forum since the scrapping of Article 370 by the government of India, called it an “Indian State” on Tuesday. Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mohammad Qureshi finally acknowledged the fact.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is not ready to accept the fact that automobile sector is badly hit, and huge job losses have happened due to economic slump. She was humming a different note on Tuesday and said “people are now preferring Uber and Ola cabs instead of purchasing news vehicles, which has led to the fall in sales of two and four-wheelers respectively. But country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India is not convinced with the Finance Minister’s hollow claim.

Goldman Sachs poker addict staff transfers huge money to pay off debt

Ashwani Jhunjhunwala, the vice-president of ‘Goldman Sachs’ and his aide Vedanta Rungta on Tuesday were arrested by Bengaluru police for transferring $5.4 million (Rs 38.8 crore) from the company’s account to a foreign company. The motif behind the huge transfer was to pay off their poker debts. The culprits were untraceable since Monday, but police finally handcuffed the guilty party on Tuesday morning.

6 children die in Karnataka due to Ganesh idol immersion

Ganesh idol immersion at a village in Kolar district of Karnataka, on Tuesday turned into a tragedy, when six children got drowned in a tank in the process of immersion. The children were between the age group of 11 to 14. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and shifted to a government hospital.

BJP demands apology from Telangana CM

The BJP Telangana unit made an uproar on Monday against the state government over a column written by chief minister’s chief public relations officer, in which he claimed that the appointment of the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan was illegal. BJP slammed the state government and demanded an unconditional apology from the K Chandrashekar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana.

India holds Qatar in a draw, opens account in world cup qualifiers

India on Tuesday managed to play a goalless draw against the strong host of 2022 FIFA world cup, Qatar in its own den. Remember Qatar is the current Asian football champion. Although the host dominated the proceedings but Blue Tiger despite absence of its captain Sunil Chhetri earned a historic 0-0 draw. With this draw India opened its account in the world cup qualifier. Credit should be given to Indian custodian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu for some of his stupendous saves. He had to wear the captain’s band in the absence of talismanic Chhetri.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi receives gifts from all over the world on his birthday. But now Modi’s gifts would go under the hammer and auctioned from September 14. A total of 2,772 objects including portraits of Modi, artwork, shawl and so on have been put for the auction at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi.

Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday criticised those people who are against the government’s cow policies. Such people are the destroyer of the nation. He further said Some people “get a shock at hearing words like “cow” and “Om” and it is unfortunate. He was launching a National Animal Disease Control programme in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

Sports ministry recommends Padmas for Mary & Sindhu

Sports ministry has recommended the name of boxer Mary Kom and badminton star PV Sindhu for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan awards respectively. Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan are India’s second and third highest civilian award respectively.

India to ink on RCEP, some sectors oppose

Despite opposition by the steel and dairy sectors against the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) treaty, India has invited representatives of RCEP in Capital on 14-15 September to ink on this agreement. Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal assures Industries on Wednesday that India will not allow to highjack its national interest while inking on RCEP agreement.

DRDO successfully tests anti-tank missile

Infantry troops of the army got a major boost on Wednesday when the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test fired ‘Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile’ (MPATGM) from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This missile is equipped with ultra-modern technology developed by DRDO.

ISRO analyses on Vikram’s landing

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is now busy in brainstorming, what went wrong with Chandrayaan 2‘s Vikram lander at the last moment. ISRO lost the communication with Vikram while it was just 2.1 km away from the moon. Speculation is that the lander may have crashed on the lunar surface. NASA sent hello message to Vikram on Moon to make a contact with it.

Feroz Shah Kotla renamed after Arun Jaitley

Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium has been renamed after former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who died last month. He also served as Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) President from 1999 to 2013. Apart from this a stand at Delhi’s famous cricket venue was named after Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team. But Feroz Shah Kotla Grounds, the grounds where matches are played, have been spared a name change – they would continue to be called Feroz Shah Kotlas Grounds.
