Singing reality shows are something all Indian families love to watch at night. These reality shows have a particular corner in the hearts of Indians. Indian singing shows help the singers and artists to showcase their talents on a big platform and allow them to build their passion into a profession. 

Here’s a list of the top famous Indian singing reality shows:

  • The Voice India

The Voice India is the first most exciting show to watch on television. The Voice inspired it, which is an American television series created by John De Mol. The reality show has its origins in the Dutch area and has become a worldwide sensation. 

The Voice India show has a panel of four judges who select contestants for their teams through blind auditions. They listen to the singing contestants first with their chairs turned around to the audience panel, and if they love the contestant’s voice, they select them for the further round by pressing the ‘I Want You’ Button. When the auditions get over, the contestants of all four teams developmental and musical skills with the help of judges and exceptional mentors.

The second round starts when judges put two team contestants against one another to make it to the next advance stage; it is a face-off challenge called the Super Battle round. After that, the remaining contestants give solo performances on stage to compete for the Grand Gala round. The judges then choose two members from each performance for the Grand Gala Round. In this round, contestants perform solo and compete with contestants of another team. But, at last, the number of votes collected by the audience decides which contestant stays and who goes. Finally, then each judge has their best contestant left who sings an original song. Out of the four contestants, one gets the title of ‘The Voice’ and receives the prize money.

  • Indian Idol

It is one of the most famous singing reality shows in India. There are many notable Indian idol winners like Abhijit Sawant, Prashant Tamang, Salman Ali and others. The show was the first show where people started to vote for their favourite contestants. The auditions take place in cities all across India like Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad. Contestants have to impress the judges with their singing. Once the show starts, the viewers of the show vote for their favourite contestants from their homes. In the end, the winner of Indian Idol gets the prize money and a signed contract with Sony Entertainment for Rs. 1 crore.

  • Dil hai Hindustani 

The famous singer ‘Badshah’ is the judge of (Dil Hai Hindustani). The first season of the show was broadcast on Star Plus. This show is quite different from other singing reality shows because it allows people from India to compete. It is a stage for singers all over the world to compete. The winner of the first season of ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ was Haitham Mohammed Rafi from Oman.

  • The Voice India Kids

The show is based on The Voice India series, but it is for children between 6-14 years. The process of the show is the same as the voice of India; there are three rounds – the Blind auditions, the Battle rounds, and the Live performance round.

In the first stage, the four judges select 15 kids through a blind audition process. Then, in the Battle Rounds, the judges and exceptional mentors help their contestants develop their singing skills. The judges then choose two members of their teams to face off each other by singing the same song. The winner gets the prize money and a trophy.
