The latest throwback video is doing rounds on the internet where epic characters like Krishna, Bheem, Bhishma Pitamah, Yudhisthira are all seen teary-eyed. These characters are from the epic show Mahabharata which aired on Doordarshan during the lockdown in the country. The viral emotional farewell video of Mahabharata brings back memories of the days when DD National aired the show. As it is being brought back and telecasted again, magic is in the air.

Mahabharata Farewell Video After Nearly 3 Decades

In the video, actors like Mukesh Khanna, Firoz Khan, Gufi Paintal, Nitish Bhardwaj, and Roopa Ganguly are all seen getting emotional and hugging each other while shooting the last scene on the sets of Mahabharata. Check out the video here:

It is considered to be one of the longest-running shows on television which started from October 2, 1988, to June 24, 1990. The show had 94 episodes with the run time of 60 minutes each. Directed by Ravi Chopra and produced by B.R. Chopra, it was the most popular show in all age groups. It was considered as morning opium back then.

And the characters became so popular; the actors became one with the character for the audience. Roopa Ganguly, who played the character of Draupadi, was very well-received by the audience who have later done successfully in the Bengali cinema. Mukesh Khanna rose to popularity playing Bhishma Pitamaha who then opened his own production house in the same name.

Mahabharata is being re-telecasted from March 28, 2020. Two episodes are being aired every day; first at 12 PM, which is followed by the second episode at 7 PM.
