It takes a highly ingenious mind to weave such an off-beat script with ease! Seldom do we get to witness a movie with a low face value turning out to be a master stroke. Fukrey reaches out to be one such gamble which hits the bull’s eye! It successfully proves that a big star-cast isn’t needed to make a film successful.

Plot: Four “faltu” young boys, in order to pursue their dreams, take some of the wackiest shortcuts for making quick bucks. Soon, they find themselves stuck in erratic situations perplexing their lives. The crazy ride that they undertake and the hurdles that come their way make up for the story ahead.

Performances: After a disastrous debut with Bittoo Boss, Pulkit Samrat has finally hit it right! He is confident and impressive. With his heart-melting cute looks, he is set to be the next heartthrob amongst girls. Debutant Varun Sharma has done exceptionally well. He is truly the star of the show. With a debut like this, he has a long way to go! Both Pulkit and Varun steal away all the limelight. Manjot Singh, much popular for his role in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, delivers yet another remarkable performance. Ali Fazal is the weaker one amongst the four of them. It won’t be right to blame him for a loosely written character. The ladies, Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh, have nothing much to do but have managed to their best in whatever little they have. Richa Chaddha, as a female gangster, is the ultimate delight. She is bomb of boldness. She incredibly adds the ultimate spice to the movie.

Music: Composed by Ram Sampat, the music album has altogether six tracks to look out for. The album is a montage of some of the peppiest numbers. Though there is nothing exceptional about the album, certain tracks like “Ambarsariya” have become the most hummable songs of the season.

What’s Good: The fresh script, the endless laughs, the comic punches and the perfect comic timing of the star cast make the movie a crazy fun ride that is surely worth taking!

What’s Bad: Certain sequences in the movie could have been executed better.

Fukrey is one understated film that has a remarkable potential of a superhit. It makes you laugh and clap throughout the movie. Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s attempt is definitely laudable and worth a watch!

Verdict: No reasons to miss this one!
