About Hero Movie:

Bollywood has been a remake bank for many yesteryear movies and ‘Hero’ is another one to add to the list of remakes. The movie is based on Subhash Ghai’s 1983 hit starring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri. The highlight of the 2015’s Hero is the entry of two star kids to the Indian cinema. Earlier too, Salman Khan had introduced many newcomers to the world of glitz and this time he has given a launchpad to Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.

Plot: Hero is the same old wine in a new bottle. The plot is exactly the same as the original movie. Pasha (Aditya Pancholi) a criminal in prison, in order to irk Inspector General Mathur (Tigmanshu Dhulia), asks his son-like goon Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi) to arrest IG’s daughter, Radha (Athiya Shetty). Radha thinking that Sooraj belongs to the police team accompanies him and later discovers that he has actually kidnapped her. It was too late for her to find the truth as both of them had fallen in love by then! A series of events with twists and turns follows the love story between a kidnapper and the kidnapped.

Performances:

The biggest disappointment in the movie is on the part of the director Nikhil Advani. He has not at all experimented with the script and has simply carbon copied the original piece. It is a loose script. He has forgotten that it is 2015 now and the world has changed drastically since the 1980s. Getting launched under a big banner is a chance that very few newcomers get and Sooraj and Athiya have been two of the luckiest lots. It is visible that both of them have come up in Bollywood with all the required trainings. Sooraj was given enough screen space to flex his muscles and flaunt his body. On his part, he has done justice to his role although his discomfort can be seen in some scenes. With his performance and appearance, it definitely looks that he will manage to get more film offers.

Athiya looks beautiful and her personality gives a resemblance of Sonam Kapoor at times. She has tried to do fairly well, but needs to improve a bit with her acting skills which will get polished with experience. But she suffers from a not so well-written script.

Tignamnshu Dhulia is decent enough’ and it was good to watch him in a positive role. Aditya Pancholi looks a little loud and seems to overact at times. Sharad Kelkar was also at par with other performers but the director did not give him much exposure.

Anita Hassanandani and Vivan Bhathena put up a good supporting cast.

Hero Movie Music:

The music of the film is already on the charts and there are eight songs in the music album. The title song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ sung by Salman Khan in his unbelievable voice has already stolen many hearts. ‘Yaadan Teriyan’ by Rahet Fateh Ali Khan is a soothing romantic number. ‘Dance ke Legend’ is a peppy number to shake a leg!

What’s Good: With his charismatic appearance and body and a fascinating smile, Sooraj will definitely swoon many girls. The chemistry between the two actors is undoubtedly rocking. The title track by Salman Khan at the end of the movie is the biggest delight.

What’s Bad: The loose script is the biggest let down; it lacks the freshness and innovation. The make up of the actors look so much sketchy for instance the blood marks on the face of Sooraj clearly indicates that they are lipstick marks.

Verdict:  The movie is watchable but you can afford to give it a miss if you have some other important tasks to complete this weekend!
