Highest Paid Actor In Bollywood

Bollywood is garnering attention of top-notch media houses across the world and so are the stars of the industry. Movies are breaching the magical ‘100 crore’ mark way too often with some even managing to touch the 200, 300 crore mark! Actors these days share a part of the profit with the producers and as a result are raking in the moolah more than ever before. They also endorse several brands and perform at live-events which are a major source of earning for them, apart from the movies and television shows.

The highest paid actors of the B-Town are Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and our very own stuntman, Akshay Kumar. These actors are ranked amidst top 20 celebrities per Forbes which is remarkable for our film industry. Entertaining movies like Airlift, Piku, Dilwale, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Gabbar Is Back have shattered box office records in the past year or so.

Highest Paid Bollywood Actors

Salman Khan: With blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg, it is Salman Khan who rules the roost, with everything he does turns into a box office hit. He amassed a colossal Rs. 60 crores from one movie alone i.e. Bajrangi Bhaijaan! He also has a growing clout in the Indian television industry, as host of popular show Big Boss on Colors. If that’s not all, his ‘Being Human’ clothing line is a rage with the youth.

Akshay Kumar charges Rs. 40-45 crore per movie and has become Bollywood’ busiest leading man. His loyal fans adore him for his comic timing and real-life action. He has proven to be the real ‘Khiladi of Bollywood’ for averaging a decent return on all his movies; he does four movies per year, mind you!

Shahrukh Khan (40-50 crore), though, has lost some market in the past few years with movies failing to match their pre-launch hype, but there is no denying his market value. Brands queue up to sign him as an ambassador for the energy and spirit he brings on board. He also owns the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Aamir Khan (40-50 crore) guarantees sound returns on investment, with his Dhoom 3 reportedly earning a mind-boggling 500 crores; a first for any Indian film.

And in case of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan (20-25 crore), the famous proverb, ‘Old is Gold’, is completely applicable. He has been part of industry for more than 50 years now and had an almost flawless career throughout.  Kaun Banega Crorepati, a show hosted by him, has done miracles for many already!

Ranbir Kapoor (20-25 crore) earns a little less than his contemporaries but in the long run he is definitely the one to watch out for. Despite his relatively moderate returns, he still manages to oust American actors Chris Pratt, Chris Evans and Hong Kong star Andy Lau.

Amongst the leading ladies on India cinema, it is Kangana Ranaut who sits at the perch with an average Rs. 12 crores per movie, with Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor all hovering around the 8-10-crore mark.
