If there is one man who can look as austere as a common man, perform astounding stunts and yet look unreasonably believable, it is Salman Khan! No wonder Salman is the most glorified actor of Bollywood. Perhaps this is the reason why his films are always eagerly awaited by the audience. Jai Ho, Salman’s next big film which had been the talk of the town, finally hit the box-office today. Just like his previous ventures such as Dabanng, Ek tha Tiger and Bodyguard, Jai Ho is a high-octane action drama with elements of a typical masala film. It extols the power of a common man who alone can trigger the change required for a utopia!

PlotA suspended patriotic army officer, Major Jai Agnihotri, sets out to bring in the much desired change in society by following the simple virtue of helping those in need. Whether this chain of helping one-another actually reaches out to the masses, is what is there to watch out for!

PerformancesSalman Khan is known for his ingenious sense of synchronisation with the characters he portrays. No matter what kind of a film is it, he is always full of power and zeal. The same zeal and dynamism can be seen in Jai Ho! We have always loved Salman for his clever sense of humor that he brings out even in the most power-packed action sequences. Jai Ho leaves little scope for him to show his mischievous side as in Dabangg, nonetheless he is absolutely amiable in the film. Jai Ho brings out the humane element in his personality.

Debutante Daisy Shah looks refreshingly beautiful but has nothing much to offer in performance. She does add a lot of glamour, though.

Tabu makes a comeback after a long time and does her part with good sincerity and genuineness.

Supporting actors such as Danny Denzonpa, Pulkit Samrat, Nadira Babbar, Genelia D’souza, Mohnish Bahl, Sana Khan and the others are fairly good in their roles.

Music: As usual, the soundtrack of Jai Ho has been composed by Sajid-Wajid, along with two guest composers. The album is a mix of some romantic numbers and a few situational tracks. The songs are quite average in quality and lyrics. The only track that stands out is “First class”.

What’s Good: A brilliant performance by the magnanimous star Salman Khan, the high-octane action sequences, a riveting screenplay, well-choreographed dance numbers and the heart-touching message delivered in the film.

What’s Bad: A stereotypical plot, the reoccurring lectures of goodness, some over-the-top action scenes and an average music score unlike Salman’s earlier hits.

Jai Ho is indeed a Salman Khan film. The thunderous action and crackerjack dialogues of the film clearly affirm that Jai Ho invariably belongs to him! Whether or not the critics approve of the film, it is definitely a treat for the true Salman Khan fans. Even though the film has some flaws here and there, when Salman Khan performs it is absolutely difficult to miss it! It is only the capabilities of  Salman that can pull off a film like this.

Verdict: The social message that the film aims to spread makes it a must watch. Jai Ho, Salman!
