There are possibly two things which elicit much anticipation in the hearts of the entire nation: One is the New Year and other is a Salman Khan movie! Well, this man definitely spells some magical charm on his audience every time he is seen on the silver-screen and that magic makes him the super-star that he is! With his second release this year, Salman Khan is back with a bang to give his audience a kick of excitement. A Sajid Nadiadwala direction, Kick is an official remake of a Telugu film of the same name.

Plot: Kick is the story of an extremely bright young man called Devi Lal Singh, whose only aim in life is to find a kick (adrenaline rush) in everything he does. In his quest for this unusual kick, he even leaves behind the love of his life Shaina. Is this kick only a medium of fun or does it actually have a meaning behind it? That is what Kick reveals!

Performances: I am very much sure of one thing about Salman Khan today; he can never go wrong with the roles he chooses! The best thing about him is that he is not an action hero entirely nor is he the king of comedy. He is a fine blend of both and that what makes him the boss! Kick is one of the best films of Salman as far as his performance is concerned. With his effortless talent, Salman has totally nailed it.

Jacqueline Fernandes is an extremely pretty actress also capable of showing her potential in her performance.
Salman and Jacqueline share a super dazzling chemistry that enhances the movie.

Randeep Hooda is an extremely talented actor blessed with looks to kill. He has a personality that mesmerizes every heart.

Mithun Chakraborty had very short screen presence but it was pleasant watching him yet again.

The best for the last, Nawazuddin Siddiqui! I have no words for this prodigal actor who amazes me with his talent everytime I see him on screen. He is spectacularly different in every role he does and whatever he is does is always with utmost precision. He is truly an actor par excellence!

Music: The music of the film has been given by Himesh Reshammiya and he has done a fabulous job this time! The album has jazzy music worth listening to. The songs are already scoring high on the music charts. The best ones from the lot: Mar Jawan and Hangover!

What’s Good: It has to be Salman Khan foremost. The refreshing chemistry between the leads, the high-octane action sequences, the music, the story and of course Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the super-villain; these are some of the assets of the film!

What’s Bad: The only fault in the film is that it somehow reminds you of Dhoom especially in the second half!

With its release around Eid, Kick had mounted much excitement and popularity amongst the audience. The film is expected to generate record breaking revenues and is also being referred to as the best film of Salman’s career. Well, whether it proves to be record breaking or not is matter of time. But one thing is certain, that this movie is one of the best watches this weekend. It will not only entertain you but will also give you the much awaited kick of this season! Go and watch Kick this weekend ad return home happy-hearted!

Verdict: Kick is exactly the kind of action-comedy that the Salman fans were totally craving for!

Rating: *** and a half
