Movie Plot

After suffering a grave loss, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) tries to commit suicide but is unable to because of his healing powers. Left with no other option, he decides to make a fresh start and joins an orphanage looking for a purpose to live. There he comes across a 14-year-old mutant with fire generating abilities. The boy is already having a tough time in the orphanage when it turns out that Cable (Josh Brolin), who has time-travelled from future is after his life. He is on a mission to prevent appalling crimes which are happening in his world. Would Wade Wilson, who wanted to take his own life a few days back, be successful in protecting the young boy?

Movie Review

Cleverly written, the movie is successful in making you chuckle numerous times as it takes continuous jabs at Avengers and other superhero-gothic movies. It isn’t going to impress those who come with the expectation of another “action-packed” storyline but would be enjoyed by people who get the nudge of sarcasm and adult humour in the dialogues. Comic fans would appreciate the frequent one-liner jokes, which add effective punch to the plot. The action scenes of the film are remarkably shot. Deadpool was and still is quite different from the other Marvel heroes as his moral ambiguity is intact and the movie doesn’t shift from the story’s emotional core.

Our Verdict

The movie is not for those who don’t like to indulge in dark humour or filthy remarks. People who take things on a lighter note will heartedly enjoy the movie, till the post-credits end. The very charming actor-writer, Reynolds brings out the perfect balance of comedy and emotions into the movie.
