Right after a day of dropping the first look, the trailer of Love Aaj Kal is officially out.
Starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan in the lead, the film is based on two decades – 1990 and 2000 and its modern-day romance.
The earlier version also had a similar parallel narrative, separated by two decades, with the star cast of Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan.
In the modern-day romance, Imtiaz Ali has kept romance as a common ground and explored the constantly changing definition of love.
The trailer opens with Zoe played by Sara accusing Veer played by Kartik of following her around even after refusing to sleep with her. To which he calls her special.
And that gives an abstraction of what the film is about – even if vaguely. One is too career-focused, the other is obsessed in love and what follows next is not so deviant but could be eccentric in nature and intense as a prototype of every Imtiaz film.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Love Aaj Kal is set for release on February 14, 2020.
