The Aam Adami Party Squad – Key players of AAP

The Aam Adami Party (AAP) received an overwhelming response in Delhi state election 2013 and won 28 out of 70 seats. The AAP is going to form a government but before that let us have a look at the key members of the Aam Adami Party.

Arvind Kejriwal: Party Chief. He is an IIT Kharagpur graduate in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Joint Commissioner in the Income Tax Department. Kejriwal actively participated in anti-corruption movement of Anna Hazare and played a crucial role in drafting a proposed Jan Lokpal Bill. Kejriwal established the Aam Adami Party in November 2012 and within a year he became a popular name in Indian politics. His party is now about to form government in Delhi and Kejriwal will be sworn in as a Delhi’s Chief Minister. He is role model of youngster. High hopes are associated with him and his party. Kejriwal won New Delhi assembly constituency against three time winner Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

Manish Sisodia: A journalist by profession, Sisodia worked with Zee News and All India Radio. He took an active part in a campaign for RTI Act and then Jan Lokpal Movement. He was jailed with Anna Hazare during Lokpal Movement. Sisodia represented party from Patparganj constituency.

Saurabh Bharradwaj: He represents AAP from Greater Kailash constituency. Bharradwaj did his Computer engineering from Bhartividyapeeth college of engineering and was working as a lawyer prior to joining AAP. He won the seat by 13092 votes in 2013 Delhi state election. He was an active social worker providing administrative help.

Kumar Vishwas: He is a Hindi literature professor and taught it to the higher class students at Lala Lajpat Rai College. He took part in anti-corruption movement and got arrested on 16th August 2011 for the same. It is expected that he will represent party from Amethi for the coming elections.

Vinod Kumar Binny: He was earlier an independent candidate and then a member of Congress from 2009 to 2011. He left the party to join anti-corruption movement. Though cases of corruption were made against him but all stood null and void. ‘Mohalla sabhas’ that is one of the major points of AAP was practically brought in by Binny. Under this concept people of his ward used to decide about the councilor funds. He represented AAP from Laxmi Nagar constituency.

Somnath Bharti: He like Arvind Kejriwal is an IIT graduate. After graduation he did his law degree from Delhi University. Bharti was an IT consultant and worked as academician.  Presently he is a Supreme Court and International court lawyer. Bharti also sent recommendations on amending law for the safety of women to Justice Verma. Bharti represented AAP from Malviya Nagar constituency.

Rakhi Birla: She is just 26 years old and defeated former PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan. Rakhi’s father was with Congress and quit the party in 2011 to take part in Jan Lokpal movement. She was working in a private news channel before joining Jan Lokpal movement. She fought from Mangolpuri constituency.

Shazia Ilmi: She was a spokesperson for the India Against Corruption movement in 2011 and 2012. Prior to this she was a television journalist and worked as an anchor at Star News.
