A Raj Kumar Gupta film ‘India’s Most Wanted‘ is out in the theatres now. Based on a true event, this Arjun Kapoor starrer movie is a tribute to the unsung heroes of India who venture into a dangerous covert operation.

Plot –The film opens with blasts taking place all over the country. And the suspect (as always) is assumed to be operating from Pakistan or Dubai. Prabhat Kapoor (Arjun Kapoor), who’s an adamant officer in an intelligence agency, gets the news that the mastermind behind these blasts is in Nepal. So, the most efficient officer decides to head off to Nepal on a covert operation with his team of five – to catch hold of the suspect. Ravi Raj (Rajesh Sharma) who’s their boss, lets them go on the operation but advises to keep it off the record. Prabhat sets off with his mission to hunt down Yusuf, who’s actually Yasin Bhatkal, the mastermind behind 10 separate bombings in India.
Movie Review: The film would remind you of all the past undercover works of Bollywood, such as Agent Vinod, Baby, Naam Shabana, etc. It has become Bollywood’s fixation with Indian Intelligence, that we can think of many films with a similar storyline of undercover agents. India’s Most Wanted is no exception. However, the scope of exciting suspense is wasted in this very interesting story premise. Talking about the screenplay, be attentive. As even with a lot of attention, it would take you a while to get a hang of it. The bafflement of the story in the beginning eventually clears out, but the narrative remains quite the same: monotonous. Though the makers have put in an effort to make it an exciting thriller, unfortunately, it shows in the background score and not in the story. Arjun Kapoor, who’s a central character in the film, is back with his famous poker face, which remains the same in the entire film, irrespective of the emotion he’s portraying. The fact that the movie is based on real-life events is heartening. It reminds us of the bravery of India’s invisible heroes. Nonetheless, IMW does not live up to the expectation that it promises in the posters.
Watch the film if you wish. It’s a good one time watch. But don’t visit the theatre with a lot of anticipation.
