Analysis

The Family Man is all in all a perfect web-series. It has the right amount of drama, comedy, romance, action, politics, religion, teenage rush and patriotism. The show is a perfect blend of comedy, drama and spy tactics.

After Naseeruddin Shah, Amrish Puri, Pankaj Kapoor and Om Puri like brand of theatre actors there are only a few actors that can match their level of art in our generation. The actor who tops this elite list in our generation is Manoj Bajpayee. The way he has shown versatility in every single role is unparalleled. Continuing his magic in this web-series as well, Manoj Bajpayee has captured the soul of ‘Srikant’ in a way that the part can never be imagined with someone else in mind. Srikant is a funny-comic character with another flip side of him which is witty, intelligent, crafty, valiant and patriotic. Priyamani has portrayed the role of Suchitra, wife of Srikant. Her character has a depth and has been written with an excellent intent. She has acted with full commitment and has done a commendable job. Her character is relatable to every working women who is juggling between her professional and family life. Neeraj Madhav has played the other major character Moosa. He is deceitful, terrifying and impressive all at the same time.

The execution of the storyline is perfect because the story is written and directed by the same set of people. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. have made a masterpiece and have setup a benchmark for other web-series. They have made this spy-comic web-series with altogether a different common man angle. Although I feel the name of the show could have been better. My initial thought after reading the title ‘The Family Man’ was not very intriguing but, once I saw Manoj Bajpayee I was convinced otherwise. The shooting locations have been mostly in Mumbai and Kashmir. The sets are realistic, and the lighting is also good. The show is a must watch, it will keep you on the edge of your seats with constant funny punches and heavy one liner. Do not miss this one.
