Rio Olympics 2016 India Schedule Time Table

Rio Olympics 2016 India Schedule Time Table

The much awaited Rio Olympics, 2016, is all set to begin on the 5th of August, 2016. Yes!! The upcoming quadrennial international sporting event is beginning in just 2 days time. And India has reason to rejoice, for in this event 120 competitors are representing India in 15 different events, which include 66 men and 54 women. This is the strongest ever contingent sent by India since India’s participation in 1900. It goes without saying that the chances of winning more medals in the different events have increased. Until now the best winning spree for India has been 6 medals in the 2012 London Olympics.

The events will be held in 32 different venues in Rio and the time difference between India and Brazil is 8 hours and 30 minutes, with India being ahead of Rio. So the events will span overnight. Star Sports Network is the official broadcaster for the Olympics, 2016. All events will go live on Star Sports channel.

It is time to get those dust-laden mugs out and get the coffee brewing, find a comfortable spot in front of the television set and cheer for our Indian athletes in the different events that they represent. Here is a schedule for the Opening Ceremony as well as the different events that our athletes are participating in, so that you do not miss a single one.

The Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of Rio Olympics 2016 will be live in India on 6th of August, at 4:30 am Indian Standard Time (IST). Officially, the games start on Friday, 5th of August, but because of the time difference it will go live in India only the next day early in the morning.
