India Today Uses Illegal Map of Pakistan with PoK&L; Here is The Actual Map

India Today uses illegal map of Pakistan
Political map of Pakistan

In a show titled ‘South Asia Bucks The COVID Trend?’ where Rajdeep Sardesai is joined by doctors from across the region on his show News Today, India Today has shockingly used an illegal map of Pakistan in which Pakistan map is used with PoK.

There are four provinces in Pakistan each shown in a different colour on the Pakistan Political Map. In 2018, the Federally administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was merged with the Khyber Pakthunkhwa province. The capital of Pakistan is Islamabad, which is a federal capital territory and is located on the Pakistan Map.

Pakistan’s provinces and their capitals as shown on the Pakistan Political Map:

Sindh – Karachi

Baluchistan – Quetta

Punjab – Lahore

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North-West Frontier) – Peshawar

The term POK is now defunct. The correct term should be POK-L or POK&L.

This is one such instance where maps are used as mere visuals by various media houses.
