I remember having them during my childhood at a fare where food from different states were available at their respective stalls. However, now Momos are easily available even at street food joints and a lot of restaurants and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/hotels-india\/\" target=\"_blank\">hotels across India<\/a>. These steamed snacks are even loved by kids. They are made with white flour and can be filled with your choice of shredded vegetables like cabbage, carrots, potatoes or non-veg fillings like chicken, mutton, fish or lamb. These go best as a snack and should be served hot with a chilly sauce. Today I give you a simple recipe to make Momos and please your kids with a nice treat at home.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Momos<\/h2>\n<p>Maida &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Baking powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Garlic cloves &#8211; 6\/7 (chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 (chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Cabbage &#8211; 1\/4 bowl (shredded)<\/p>\n<p>Capsicum &#8211; 1\/4 bowl (shredded)<\/p>\n<p>Carrot &#8211; 1\/4 bowl (shredded)<\/p>\n<p>Soya sauce &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili sauce &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Chili paste &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Tomato ketchup &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<h2>How to make Momos<\/h2>\n<p>Mix maida, 1\/4th tsp salt, baking powder and knead into a soft dough.<\/p>\n<p>In a pan add oil and fry garlic and onion. Add all vegetables and cook for 2\/3 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add soya sauce, red chili sauce, chili paste, tomato ketchup and salt and cook for another minute.<\/p>\n<p>Make small balls of dough and roll into thin circles and fill a spoon of filling in each.<\/p>\n<p>Steam for 10 minutes in a steamer.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot with red chili sauce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originally belonging to the north eastern states of India, specifically the state of Sikkim, Momos are also known as dumplings in various regions.
