It is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm all over India in the month of July or August. As kids we used to look forward to this festival because it was a great day to get together with friends and decorate the jhankis based on Lord Krishna’s life and also have different things to eat which are allowed during vrat or fasting. One of the items I used to look forward to along with fruits was, Kutu Aur Singhare Ki Pakodi.

These pakodi’s are made with the batter of Kutu and Singhare ka atta and tastes awesome with plain dahi (curd) or coriander chutney. As the regular salt is not allowed during the fasting, we use senda namak for flavour. I still love these and on the occasion of Janmashtami, I am sure to make these once again to have with my family. I am sure many of you would also love to have these and you can try this recipe to make some delicious Kuttu Aur Singhare Ki Pakodi for yourself.
