Paranoia is not any disorder, but paranoid thoughts may be an indication of any other mental illness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What are the symptoms of Paranoia?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Staying alone or in isolation mostly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Constant fear<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Mistrust of others<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Feeling offended\/judged easily<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Feeling that you are misunderstood<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Unable to tolerate criticism<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Does not forgive or compromise easily<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What causes Paranoia?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Several factors, but primarily due to any other mental health disorder, can cause Paranoia.\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Listed below are some conditions that cause Paranoia.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Little or no sleep-\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One day or occasional days with no rest does not cause Paranoia. Usage of such substances triggers any mental health disorder. Too much consumption of alcohol worsens Paranoia.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Memory loss-<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Alzheimer\u2019s disease, or any other form of dementia that individuals have as they age, influence their thought process, for which it can be a reason which causes Paranoia.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Can Paranoia be diagnosed? If so, how?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As Paranoia is not a disorder in itself, there is no specific assessment or test designed to diagnose Paranoia. However, mental health professionals may look for underlying causes behind the paranoid thoughts to better understand the individual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">How is Paranoia treated?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The treatment of Paranoia depends on how severe the symptoms are. The primary treatment for Paranoia is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy helps individuals with paranoid thoughts identify the negative thoughts. The negative beliefs are then replaced with positive thoughts. Therapists or other mental health professionals help individuals find out different ways to divert their negative thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The treatment of Paranoia may be time-consuming but has shown significant effectiveness.
