It is the celebration of Lord Krishna\u2019s birthday<\/a>. It is celebrated in a grand way around the world in almost every Hindu household and temple; people from other communities also join in to enjoy the festival. Lord Krishna is served with various sweets and other dishes, especially dairy sweets and butter, as he loved them. Hindus belonging to different countries celebrate it in different ways. With Janmashtami around, Bengalis serve the recipe &#8220;Malpua&#8221;, a must for Janmashtami Bhog (devotional offering made to god). It is a pancake-like sweet dish made with its star ingredient, Sooji (Semolina flour). Malpuas are made with very minimal ingredients. Below is the complete recipe for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Semolina flour- 1 cup<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sugar- \u00bd cup<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Water- As needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All-purpose flour- \u00bd cup<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fennel seeds- 1 tsp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ghee- 3 to 4 tbsp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Vegetable oil- For frying<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Method:<\/h3>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To make the batter<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Take a large bowl and in it, add the semolina flour along with all-purpose flour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Gradually add water to it, and mix it with a spatula or large spoon. The consistency of the batter should be thick but enough to be pouring consistently.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now gradually add sugar as per the sweetness you desire, and add the fennel seeds. Mix them all well.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For frying<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Take a pan and put it on the stove in medium flame.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After the pan heats up, add one tablespoon of ghee and some vegetable oil.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Take one scoop of the batter and pour it into the pan. The size can be as per your desire.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fry one side until golden brown.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Flip it on the other side and fry it till golden brown.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">When both sides become light brown, take off the pan.
