However, there are also multiple other choices to go for if you want to be different and <em>Khoya Makhane Matar<\/em> is one such great and delicious option. As the name suggests, it is made with <em>khoya<\/em> (a concentration of milk), <em>phool makhane<\/em> and green peas and decorated with some <em>kaju <\/em>(cashews)<em>.<\/em> I am sure you are already feeling the richness of this dish!<\/p>\n<p>Khoya Makhane Matar is a good main course dish to have as it is not too spicy and can be enjoyed by all. It goes well with most Indian breads like <em>roti, paratha<\/em> and <em>naan <\/em>or rice. Use this\u00a0 recipe for a treat for yourself or your guests.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Khoya Makhane Matar<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>(Serves 4)<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 cup (finely chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Ginger paste &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Garlic paste &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Chili powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder &#8211; 1 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Garam masala powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1 cup (puree)<\/p>\n<p>Khoya &#8211; 150 g<\/p>\n<p>Green Peas &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/p>\n<p>Phool Makhane &#8211; 5 cups<\/p>\n<p>Kaju (cashews) &#8211; 1\/4 cup (break them into halves)<\/p>\n<p>Sugar &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Lemon juice &#8211; 1 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Fresh cream &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Coriander leaves<\/p>\n<h2>How to make\u00a0Khoya Makhane Matar<\/h2>\n<p>Take a heavy bottom pan, heat oil and add onion<\/p>\n<p>Fry till onions are golden brown. Also add the ginger and garlic paste while frying.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomato and cook for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add all dry <em>masala <\/em>(spices) with 1\/2 cup water and cook for couple of minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>khoya<\/em> and cook for another minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add 4 to 5 cups of water and bring the <em>masala<\/em> to a boil.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>phool makhane<\/em>, green peas and <em>kaju<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Cook till <em>phool makhane<\/em> are soft and water is reduced.<\/p>\n<p>Add lemon juice, fresh cream and sugar.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with fresh coriander.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot with your choice of bread or rice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Most often than not, whenever there are guests at home, specially in North India, dishes made with paneer like shahi paneer or malai kofta are sought after for their rich appeal.
