The first on the list is the Khokara Village which is approximately 20 to 25 Km away from Marwas. Lush green forests, caves and mountains surround the area of the village. It is why it is named ‘Khokara’, which means “surrounded by deep caves”.<\/span><\/p>\n

This village gives you a glimpse of the culture, tradition and lifestyle of the Gond & Baiga tribes. It works on the concept of Sustainable living and Responsible tourism. A dam, mountains and big caves are the main tourist attractions here. One can also visit the nearby Sanjay Dubri Sanctuary.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Ladpura Khas Village<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Surrounded by hills, forests, and rivers, the Ladpura Khas village is 7 Km from Orcha and 20 Km from Jhansi. Homestays in this village are also made with material that is available locally. They offer their guest fresh farm produces, living up to their motto, “farm to plate”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lath Maar Holi is popularly celebrated in this village. You can have an off to the village by taking a cycle and e-rickshaw ride. You can also experience the live demonstration of the art & craft, music, dance and other essential activities undertaken in this village.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Madla Village<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

About 20 km from Khajuraho, the village of Madla is a one-of-its-kind village in India. Mountains, rivers and forests, a distinct feature of the village, surround it. Karnawati (Ken), the cleanest river in Asia, also flows through Madla.<\/span><\/p>\n

One can also visit the Pandava Falls and caves at a distance of 10 km from here. The village community is well aware of the natural resources. The houses in the village have walls painted with paintings depicting their culture and heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Thadipathar Village<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Thadipathar Village is around 20 to 25 Km away from Marwas. It is inhabited by the Gond and Baiga tribes. They are well-versed in the identification and use of different medicinal plants. It offers a truly rural experience with clean, fresh air, a rural tribal lifestyle and organically produced food.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sanjaydubri sanctuary and Charka Pani waterfall are the nearby tourist attraction of this village. Houses here are made with mud, stone and cow dung, making them cool during summer. Cap made of peacocks feather and bamboo is a speciality of this village, and you have a live demonstration of how it is made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, dance and music is the routine activity for the villagers. It also has a market which sells musical instruments, lamps and other items produced by the forest.<\/span><\/p>\n
