It has its own unique significance when it comes to festivities and is loved by all. <i>Halwa<\/i> of different varieties can be prepared using different ingredients; for example,\u00a0<i>aate ka halwa<\/i> is made from wheat flour, <i>sooji halwa<\/i>\u00a0from\u00a0<i>sooji<\/i>, etc. Today I made <i>halwa<\/i> from <i>moong dal<\/i>, called Moong Dal Halwa. This yellowish-golden <i>halwa <\/i>is very appealing to the eyes and is very tasty to eat. It can be made with little effort at home and decorated with your choice of dry fruit. You could make it for any of the festivities you like or for a small party as a dessert. Whichever way you would like to serve it, it\u2019s for sure would win many hearts. So use this simple recipe to make Moong Dal Halwa. You could even choose to keep it sealed in refrigerator and heat it in a microwave for an instant treat.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Moong Dal Halwa<\/h2>\n<p><strong>(serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dhuli moong dal &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Ghee &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Khoya &#8211; 200 gm<\/li>\n<li>Milk &#8211; 3 cups<\/li>\n<li>Sugar &#8211; 1-1\/2 cups<\/li>\n<li>Elaichi\u00a0powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Saffron &#8211; a pinch<\/li>\n<li>Badam\u00a0&#8211; 10-12 (chopped)<\/li>\n<li>Kaju\u00a0&#8211; 10-12\u00a0 (chopped)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How to make Moong Dal Halwa<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Fry the <em>khoya<\/em> till it turns slightly pink.<\/li>\n<li>Wash and soak dal in water for 5-6 hours and then ground it coarsely in a blender.
