PM Gati Shakti- National Master Plan was launched on October 13, 2021, to boost Indian Economic Growth. This plan was implemented by Department for Promotion of Industry and internal trade (DPIIT) of the Commerce and industry ministry. This plan was launched to provide multimodal connectivity infrastructure to all economic zones of India. The development of multimodal connectivity will bring integration among people, goods, and services. It will help to reduce travel time for people. This mission was established to develop holistic infrastructure to ensure the speed and power of different infrastructural projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim of the project<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u2022 The project focuses on saving costs, creating jobs, and bringing down logistics costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 It will give the necessary push to infrastructure development.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Its goal is to bring together all the relevant ministries and various departments of the Government of India and create a digital platform for more integrated planning of projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 It will interconnect all the transport networks, such as roadways, waterways, etc, for easy movement of goods.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 It will provide correct and transparent information about the ongoing and upcoming connectivity projects to people.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Given making Indian businesses more competitive, it will connect all the economic zones like textile, industrial corridors, agricultural zones, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 It will incorporate various projects from different union ministries and state governments.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the six pillars of PM Gati Shakti’s plan?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Comprehensiveness:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0A centralized portal will be created, including all the existing plans of all the ministries and state governments. It will provide critical data and activities of an ongoing project to every department.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prioritization:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Through cross-sectoral interactions, departments can prioritize their projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Optimization:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0The plan will assist different ministries in planning and initiating their projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Synchronization:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0This plan will ensure the coordination of work between different ministries and synchronize their activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Analytical<\/strong>: to provide better visibility to the executing agencies, it will give real data in one place with Geographic Information System (GIS) based spatial planning and different analytical tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dynamic:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0With the help of the GIS platform, all the ministries and departments can monitor, review and visualize the progress of ongoing cross-sectoral projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Gati Shakti plan will renew the energy of India to become a world-class manufacturer of products using new-age technology and cutting-edge innovation. It will also work to decrease the country’s dependency on other nations for the production of technologies and will make India self-reliant.
