It finds its flavors from the many spices found in different regions and states of India. <em>Kasoori methi<\/em> is one such spice made from fenugreek or <em>methi<\/em>\u00a0seeds, which is grown in the central and northern states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttarakhand. This spice has a unique taste and brings out <em>methi<\/em> flavors. I used it to make Murg Kasoori Methi. The dish was thoroughly enjoyed with some nice Indian bread: in this case, the <em>roomali roti<\/em> bought from the market, but it goes equally well with homemade <em>roti<\/em> or <em>paratha<\/em>. You can use this simple Murg Kasoori Methi Recipe to make this dish and enjoy a different taste of India.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ingredients\u00a0(serves 4)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Chicken &#8211; 1 full<\/li>\n<li>Onion &#8211; 2 cups (chopped)<\/li>\n<li>Ginger garlic paste &#8211; 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Coriander powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Red chili powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<li><em>Dahi<\/em> &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Tomato puree &#8211; 1\/4 cup<\/li>\n<li>Garam masala &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Kasoori Methi &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How to make Murg Kasoori Methi<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat oil in a <em>kadhai<\/em> and fry onions till golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Add ginger garlic paste, fry for 2 min.<\/li>\n<li>Add all dry <em>masala<\/em> except <em>kasoori methi<\/em> and fry for about a min.<\/li>\n<li>Add tomato puree and fry for a min.<\/li>\n<li>Add chicken and <em>dahi<\/em> and cook till chicken is done (chicken will release water, so don&#8217;t add any more).<\/li>\n<li>Add <em>kasoori methi<\/em> and cook for about 2 min with light stirring so the flavors set in.<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot with any Indian bread.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chicken is the most common non-vegetarian food consumed in India.
