The bud may remain attached to the parent or detach and form a separate individual.

Regeneration: In this mode, a new individual develops from a small piece of the parent organism. When the parent is cut or injured, it can regenerate its lost parts, which develop into new individuals.

(ii) Vegetative propagation is a type of asexual reproduction in plants, where a new individual is produced from a vegetative part of the parent plant, such as stem, roots, or leaves. Two advantages of using this technique are:

Maintenance of desirable traits: When a plant with desirable traits is propagated vegetatively, the new plants will also have the same desirable traits. This allows the growers to maintain the desirable traits in the propagated plants.

Rapid multiplication: Vegetative propagation is a quick and efficient method of producing large numbers of plants from a single parent plant. This is especially useful in horticulture and agriculture, where large numbers of plants with similar characteristics are needed.

Question :(i) Name and explain the two modes of asexual reproduction oberved in hydra.
