These red carrots are an automatic invitation to prepare this wonderful and delectable\u00a0<em>halwa<\/em> at home and today I&#8217;ll give you a perfect recipe I learnt from my mom. Though I&#8217;ve tried Gajar Ka Halwa at many places throughout India, be it restaurants or sweet shops, there is nothing better than what was made by my mother and this Gajar Ka Halwa Recipe lets you try it out. In case you don&#8217;t want to use sugar you can also use a low-sugar substitute as per your diet requirements. So don&#8217;t wait any longer and get those red carrots to create magic.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Gajar Ka Halwa<\/h2>\n<p><strong> (serves 6)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Red carrots &#8211; 1\/2 kg<\/li>\n<li>Khoya &#8211; 125 gm<\/li>\n<li>Milk &#8211; 4 cup<\/li>\n<li>Ghee &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Sugar &#8211; as per taste (you can use sugar substitutes, if required)<\/li>\n<li>Elaichi &#8211; 6\/8 (powdered)<\/li>\n<li>Dry fruits &#8211; 1\/2 cup for garnishing (sliced &#8211; I used cashew nuts and almonds)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How to make Gajar Ka Halwa<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Grate the carrots and boil them in the milk until dried.<\/li>\n<li>Fry the dry fruits in 1 tbsp ghee and drain out. Keep aside.<\/li>\n<li>Take the 2 tbsp <em>ghee<\/em> in a <em>kadhai<\/em> and fry the carrots on low heat for about 5 min.<\/li>\n<li>Add <em>khoya<\/em> and cook for about 5 min.<\/li>\n<li>Add sugar and cook until cooked properly.<\/li>\n<li>Add <em>elaichi<\/em> powder and mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Add fried dry fruits and mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gajar Ka Halwa is one of the favorites all over India, and as the winter approaches the local vegetable mandi are full of new carrot crop.
