In contemporary India, states like Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Haryana are the primary locations for wrestling. The sport of wrestling was added to the Olympics in 708 BC and is regarded as one of the most important games. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The wrestlers regarded as being the most well-known in India throughout time are Sakshi Malik, Sushil Kumar Solanki, and Geeta Phogat etc. It was a Greco-Roman sport that made its Olympic debut in 1896.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> The basic format of a wrestling competition is known as &#8220;Dangal&#8221; in India. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In ancient India, wrestling received regular support from the emperors and kings of the country. As the British rulers incorporated the sport into military training, wrestling in India received another significant boost during their rule. Until the 1960s, wrestling in India was ranked among the top 10 sports in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Today, wrestling has become a competitive professional sport that gives India international recognition. Indian wrestlers have succeeded dramatically in the Freestyle Wrestling category at international competitions. In 1904, the Olympic Games added freestyle wrestling as a sport. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Punjab is the best state in India for wrestling instruction. Pahilwani kushti and wrestling are well known there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WFI created the Pro Wrestling League tournament in 2015 to promote the sport. Each of the six teams, comprised of 11 players from both domestic and foreign teams, represented one of the six cities in India. Each year, the Senior and Junior levels of the National Championships are held.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Main Objectives Of the Wrestling Federation Of India<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To support, regulate, and promote amateur wrestling activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Join the Indian Olympic Association and become an affiliate of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) and uphold FILA rules and regulations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To affiliate Services Sports Control Board, Railway Sports Promotion Board, Wrestling Associations of States and Centrally Administered Areas, and other Institutional Boards across the entire nation of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Plan the annual Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior Wrestling Championships by FILA rules at venues chosen by the Executive Committee.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To permit a State Wrestling Association to host wrestling events with an international flavor throughout the Union of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To keep an array of qualified officials on hand to work in sanctioned competitions and to maintain control over officials. To maintain a high standard of officiating, arrange for their testing and training as needed and to organize camps for wrestlers that are systematically focused on coaching.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To establish the general guidelines for how the State Wrestling Associations and other affiliated organizations will operate and to officially register wrestlers and encourage intra-wrestling matches, to take all steps necessary to achieve the goal for which the Society was founded and to promote and develop amateur wrestling in the nation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Overall, WFI promotes wrestling in India and takes up action to involve people to participate more in it.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wrestling In India Wrestling is the most traditional sport with a rich history in India.
