It has been served as part of regular <em>thali<\/em> meals in Gujarati restaurants, generally it is served as a dessert however some people also like to eat it with <em>poori<\/em>. Srikhand is prepared by draining the water out of the curd (<em>dahi<\/em>) and adding other ingredients along with sugar.Today I have added the wonderful flavor of <em>kesar<\/em> with some digestive <em>elaichi<\/em> to make Kesar Elaichi Srikhand. The thick curd that we get after hanging the<em> dahi<\/em> is called <em>Chakka<\/em>. The Chakka can be made in advance and any flavors of your choice can be added to it. It is easy to prepare any kind of Srikhand at home using home made <em>dahi<\/em>. Kesar Elaichi Srikhand would be loved by everyone in the house and can be served any time of the day. So enjoy today&#8217;s dessert and make your meal complete with this Kesar Elaichi Srikhand Recipe.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Kesar Elaichi Srikhand<\/h2>\n<p><strong> (serves 3-4 )<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dahi &#8211; 3 cups<\/li>\n<li>Sugar &#8211; 1\\2 cup (grind it to a powder)<\/li>\n<li><em>Elaichi<\/em> powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li><em>Kesar<\/em> &#8211; 2 pinch<\/li>\n<li>Milk &#8211; 1 1\/2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Dry fruit for garnishing (cut them to slivers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to make Kesar Elaichi Srikhand<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 10 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 10 minutes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take milk in a small bowl and dip the <em>kesar<\/em> in it for about half an hour<\/li>\n<li>Hang the <em>dahi<\/em> in a cotton cloth to drain out all water.<\/li>\n<li>Add sugar, <em>elaichi<\/em> powder and milk with <em>kesar<\/em> \u00a0in the<em> dahi<\/em> and mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with dry fruits and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.<\/li>\n<li>Serve cooled Srikhand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srikhand is a popular dish from the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat and has formed part of their traditions for times immemorial.
