It is one place where science merges with frolic, becoming a pleasure for children and adults alike.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the heart of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/maps\/karnataka\/bangalore-map.htm\">Bengaluru<\/a>, the museum was constructed in the honour of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of the architects of modern Karnataka.<\/p>\n<p>Spread over an area of 40,000 sq. ft., the five-floored museum is dedicated to several scientific disciplines and has five galleries on display, namely, the Electronic Technology Gallery, the Engine Hall, the Kimbe Paper Metals Gallery, the Children\u2019s Science Gallery, and the Popular Science Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>This wonderland develops in children an appreciation for science by making them participate in and curious about intriguing experiments. Some examples are: a tap from which water flows endlessly, with no source connected; a magic mirror; whispering dishes; a special carrom board; the Head on the Platter etc.<\/p>\n<p><b>Highlights<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wright Flyer: The replica of the remarkable aeroplane of the Wright Brothers (1903).<\/li>\n<li>Dinosaur\u2019s Room: A model of a dinosaur amuses children as it howls and moves.<br \/>\nEngine Hall: Engines of various automobiles, industrial machines and other mechanical devices are exhibited here.<\/li>\n<li>Electronic Technology Gallery: It contains marvels of electronics and communication, including classical experiments like Faraday&#8217;s ring, Barlow&#8217;s wheel, Oersted&#8217;s experiment etc.<\/li>\n<li>Fun Science Gallery: It displays sciences of sound with the help of delayed hearing equipment and the music by air tubes. It also exhibits a giant piano over which visitors can dance to play music.<\/li>\n<li>Space Gallery: Here you get a chance to see a colorful presentation of the solar system, a model of a rocket, as well as a show on the constellations in the sky. It also showcases a model of Aryabhata, the first Indian satellite.<\/li>\n<li>Taramandal, a mini-planetarium show.<\/li>\n<li>3D theatre films on deep-sea diving and the human brain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a canteen on the terrace of the museum, which provides you a view of the twin towers of Bangalore connected by a bridge.
