The borders cross through rivers, forests, deserts, mountains and coastal areas, and consequently, the frontier areas are among the most strategic in India. Border districts not only represent an important national security line but are also a point of passage for trade, cultural exchange, tourism and diplomatic relations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India&#8217;s border areas, from the snowy landscapes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/maps\/ladakh\/\">Ladakh<\/a> to the riverine landscapes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/maps\/westbengal\/\">West Bengal<\/a> and the forests of the northeast, are distinctly different in their geographic and cultural makeup.
