After watching films like Ishaqzaade<\/em>, Student of the Year<\/em>, Lootera<\/em> and several others, there was one thing that I became absolutely sure of – the young new faces of Bollywood are profoundly talented and have definite capabilities of changing the course of the Indian Cinema. And today my belief grew even stronger! Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer, Hasee toh Phasee<\/i>, a much awaited rom-com, finally hit the theatres today. Debutant Director Vinil Mathew surely managed to cast a refreshing pair for his first film, but does the film turn out to be as youthful as it seems? Let\u2019s find out!<\/p>\n Plot<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b>The plot of Hasee toh Phasee<\/em> is more of a typical one. A charmingly decent but quirky guy meets an insane, rebellious and nerdy girl in a strange encounter. Seven years past this short meeting, fate brings them together to embark on a journey of falling in love.<\/p>\n Performances<\/b>:<\/b> Siddharth Malhotra is one of the most handsome faces introduced in Bollywood. Not only that, he is one guy who is strikingly calm in his performance and does every bit with an astounding ease. And this is what makes him stand out from others.<\/p>\n Parineeti Chopra has undoubtedly nailed this one! The kind of craziness and novelty she has brought to her character is way too daring for other actresses of her generation. The best thing about her is the fact that she simply discards the clich\u00e9s of how a typical heroine should be. This girl is definitely the best example of profound sincerity and enormous calibre.<\/p>\n Adah Sharma looks glamorously pretty and does her part well.<\/p>\n The supporting cast has done a fairly good job in bringing lightness to the movie.<\/p>\n Casting a refreshingly odd pair has worked well for Vinil Mathew as there is perfect chemistry between the couple. Just as they say, Parineeti is the hydrogen and Siddharth is the oxygen and when they unite their chemistry flows perfectly like water.<\/p>\n Music<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b>Composed by the deadly duo Vishal-Shekhar, the album of Hasee toh Phasee<\/em> has six songs in its kitty. The album is a blend of some foot-tapping and some soulful romantic numbers. \u00a0It may not be exceptionally spectacular but can be enjoyed once in a while. The best composition by far is \u201cDrama Queen\u201d, which is packed with energy.<\/p>\n What\u2019s Good<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b>Of course the best thing about the movie is the stellar performance by Parineeti Chopra. The leading pair\u2019s chemistry is another thing to look out for.<\/p>\n What\u2019s Bad<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b>A half-baked plot with some unbelievable and flimsy angles, an average soundtrack and a clich\u00e9d climax doesn\u2019t really work for the film.<\/p>\n Having produced under the banner of Dharma Productions by Karan Johar, the film had high expectations attached. Even though the film has a refreshing take in terms of the pairing and performances, the overtly typical plot doesn\u2019t really interest the audience. The only thing that works out for the film is Parineeti Chopra and Hasee toh Phasee<\/i> inevitably belongs to her! Nonetheless, it is nothing of a proper comedy that can make you fall off your seats. If you are planning to watch the film, don\u2019t keep your expectations sky-high. Watch it only for Parineeti!<\/p>\n Verdict<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b>The film is entertaining but only in bits and pieces.
