Whatever the form it gives a great and unique taste to the preparation. Today I used the\u00a0<em>methi<\/em>\u00a0leaves in the dough, filled it with boiled potatoes to make a Aaloo Methi Paratha. This <em>paratha<\/em> is a great option for either breakfast or main course and can be served with any of the main course dishes or your choice or <em>chutney<\/em> and <em>achaar<\/em>. A splash of butter does wonders to any Indian bread and this is no different. Make these <em>parathas<\/em> with fresh <em>methi<\/em> and serve them hot for perfect results. These can even be packed for school and office lunch or picnics or just enhance the number of breads in your basket. Use this simple Aaloo Methi Paratha Recipe to make it at home.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Aaloo Methi Paratha<\/h2>\n<p><strong>(serves 2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Desi Ghee<\/em> for cooking<\/p>\n<p><em>For Filling<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Boiled potatoes &#8211; 2<\/p>\n<p>Fresh coriander leaves &#8211; 1\/2 cup (chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Ginger &#8211; 1\/2 inch piece (grated)<\/p>\n<p>Green chili &#8211; 1 (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Salt &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Dry mango powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Cumin powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>For Dough<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Flour &#8211; 2 cup<\/p>\n<p>Salt &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Fresh <em>methi<\/em> leaves &#8211; 1 cup (chopped)<\/p>\n<h2>How to make Aaloo Methi Paratha<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 15 min.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 15 min.<\/p>\n<p>Mix all the ingredients for the filling in a bowl. Keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>Knead a dough with salt and <em>methi<\/em> leaves using water as needed.<\/p>\n<p>Divide the dough in equal part balls.<\/p>\n<p>Roll the balls slightly, place equal filling and close them again.<\/p>\n<p>Roll them again (using flour to avoid sticking) into circle shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Heat a <em>tava<\/em> and fry the <em>parathas<\/em> with <em>desi ghee<\/em> until brown from both sides.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Methi or Fenugreek is used in many Indian recipes as a spice, vegetable or a herb.
