The reason is the many picturesque waterfalls in and around the town, which carry the waters of the rivers Madupetti, Periavaru, Nallathanni on the Kannan Devan Hills.<\/p>\n<p>The way to these waterfalls is every bit a reflection of paradise on Earth. You\u2019ll be passing through several tea plantations and breathtaking locations, finally arriving above the clouds, which is where most of the falls start. Ask anyone who\u2019s been to Munnar and you\u2019re sure to get excited testimonies of experiences that were truly unforgettable.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the irresistible waterfalls in and around the town are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attukal Waterfalls (9 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<li>Lakkom Water Falls<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(25 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<li>Chinnakanal or Power House Waterfalls at 2000 meters above sea level (18 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<li>Cheeyappara Waterfalls (35 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<li>Nayamakad Waterfalls at 1,600 metres above sea level (10 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<li>Valara Waterfalls (42 km from Munnar)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Travel advice<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Avoid visiting Munnar in the winters as the weather is chilly to the extreme.
