Goa being the coastal state get&#8217;s a good share of daily sea catch including fish, crabs and prawns. It also grows a lot of coconut and hence it forms the part of its cuisine. The Goan style of cooking also uses a lot of spices which goes well with the climate. Using all these three I made Goan Style Prawn Curry and it came out finger licking good. It went perfectly well with home made <em>chapati&#8217;s<\/em> and can also be enjoyed with any other Indian bread. This curry can really carry a whole meal with itself, so why not try it out with this Goan Style Prawn Curry Recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All you need is (serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prawns &#8211; 400 gms<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Dry red chili &#8211; 3 to 4<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1\/2 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Green chili &#8211; 2 (slit vertically)<\/p>\n<p><em>Dhania<\/em> powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Curry leaves &#8211; 1 sprig<\/p>\n<p>Coconut milk &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p>Coriander leaves for garnishing<\/p>\n<h2>Goan Style Prawn Curry Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 10 min.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 20 min.<\/p>\n<p>Wash and clean the prawns, apply little salt and red chili powder to them and keep aside for 10 min.<\/p>\n<p>In a pan heat the oil, saute the dry red chilies and curry leaves for a min.<\/p>\n<p>Add onion, green chilies, saute for 2-3 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomato and all dry <em>masala<\/em>, fry for 2-3 min (use water as needed)<\/p>\n<p>Add coconut milk with 1\/2 cup water and bring it to a boil.<\/p>\n<p>Add prawns and cook for 4-5 min.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with coriander leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goa is known for few of the finest beaches in India, at the same time this small state has also given a lot to the Indian cuisine.
