Indian cuisine gives us so many opportunities to try our hand on combinations of the vegetables, dry fruits, spices etc. Today I mixed up two easily available items <em>gobhi<\/em> and <em>makhane<\/em>\u00a0with other dry fruits and spices to make a Shahi Gobhi Makhana. A very simple dish which can go well with most tastes and a fancy name to win the accolades. The dish can be served with <em>roti<\/em> or <em>naan<\/em> or on the side to the rice. You too can try your hand on this dish with this Shahi Gobhi Makhana Recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All you need is (serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1\/2 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1\/2 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Cashew nuts &#8211; 12 to 15<\/p>\n<p><em>Khaskhas<\/em> &#8211; 1 tsp (soak and grind to a paste)<\/p>\n<p>Ginger &#8211; 1 tsp (grated)<\/p>\n<p><em>Gobhi<\/em> &#8211; 2 cup (cut in medium pieces)<\/p>\n<p><em>Makhana<\/em> &#8211; 2 cup<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Kasoori methi<\/em> &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Cream &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Dahi<\/em> &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 2 tsp and for frying<\/p>\n<p>Fresh coriander for garnishing<\/p>\n<h2>Shahi Gobhi Makhana Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 15 min.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 25 min.<\/p>\n<p>Soak cashew nuts in warm water for 10 min.<\/p>\n<p>Make a smooth paste with cashew nuts, tomato and ginger. Keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>Soak <em>gobhi<\/em> in salted warm water for a min. Drain and keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>Deep fry the <em>makhana<\/em> and keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions till soft.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomato, cashew nut and ginger paste and saute for 2 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>khaskhas paste, kasoori methi, garam masala<\/em>, red chili powder and salt and saute for 2 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add little water and keep frying till the oil leaves the sides.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>gobhi<\/em> and <em>makhana<\/em> and cook till <em>gobhi<\/em> is done.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>dahi<\/em> and mix well.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with cream and fresh coriander.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everyone likes to make regular vegetables into something unique.
