I loved having them with <em>roti, paratha<\/em> or even bread slice and I carry the same excitement even now. Constantly on the lookout to give a interesting and healthy variation to the dishes, I added <em>palak<\/em> to my recipe today and made Chole Palak. The green color thick gravy made them look even more interesting to eat and they tasted very yummy. You could serve them with home made <em>roti<\/em> or rice and they go equally well with both. Chole dishes also come in handy for picnics and trips and since this gravy is thick, it can be easily packed, so you get taste and nutrition on the go. Let&#8217;s see how to make it with this Chole Palak Recipe<\/p>\n<p><strong>All you need is (serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Palak<\/em> &#8211; 4 cups ( cleaned and chopped )<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 cup ( chopped )<\/p>\n<p>Ginger garlic paste &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1 cup ( chopped )<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><i>Chole<\/i> &#8211; 1 cup ( soaked for a few hours and boiled till soft )<\/p>\n<h2>Chole Palak Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Heat water in a big vessel.<\/p>\n<p>When the water comes to a boil, add the <em>palak<\/em> and a tsp of salt.<\/p>\n<p>Let it cook for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Strain and run the <em>palak<\/em> under cold water.<\/p>\n<p>Blend in a blender to make a puree.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add onion and ginger garlic paste.<\/p>\n<p>Fry till golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomato and fry for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add coriander powder, red chili powder and <em>garam masala<\/em> powder.<\/p>\n<p>Fry for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add the pureed <em>palak<\/em> and <em>chole<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Add a cup of water and cook for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot with rice or <em>Phulke.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I used to look forward to chole cooking at home in my childhood.
