After having stayed for one unplanned extra night at Palolem, I left for Panjim, capital of Goa, the place I was waiting for since the start of this expedition. Palolem to Panjim is just 70 kilometers and it took me approx 5 hours to reach the outskirts of Panjim city. I crossed Madgao on my way, 35 kilometers before Goa, which is the head district of South Goa. Madgao is beautiful where you can still get to see Portuguese style houses. Today, Western Ghats really took my test to see as if I am really fit for cycling in Himalayas or not. There were times when I had to drag my cycle up the very steep slope. But what goes up, has to come down. On the other side of mountain, I did not have to paddle for 2.6 kilometers once and my cycle was coming downslope so fast that I thought it is about to take off.<\/p>\n

I knew that Panjim would be expensive and would definitely overshoot my budget as it did at Palolem. I searched for Youth Hostel in Panjim and it took me a long time to seach for it where I got accommodation in a dormitory for Rs. 200 per bed per person. But it’s for just one night and I have to look for another accommodation for next two nights. Youth Hostel has a very awesome location, just beside the sea with a basketball court and few other facilities for hostelers. I read about Panjim’s famous beaches and few other tourist places like its forts and churches which I will be visiting during my stay here. Be with me as I take you around Goa in my style i.e. by cycling.<\/p>\n
