Probably one of the most famous ones and a favorite of many would be Baingan Bharta. It is made with roasted and mashed <em>baingan<\/em>, cooked with spices in onion and tomato gravy garnished with green coriander leaves goes well with freshly made <em>roti<\/em>. This has been made pretty much throughout India in slightly varying forms and even in the neighboring Asian countries. It can be easily made at home pretty quickly and your family would love you for the dish. Use this Baingan Bharta Recipe and enjoy a delicious home made vegetable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All you need is (serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Baingan<\/em> &#8211; 1<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 &amp; 1\/2 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1 &amp; 1\/2 cup (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Ginger &#8211; 2 inch piece (grated)<\/p>\n<p>Garlic &#8211; 10 to 12 cloves (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Green chili -2 (cut in small pieces)<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Fresh coriander for garnishing<\/p>\n<h2>Baingan Bharta Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 20 min.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 15 min.<\/p>\n<p>Apply 1 tsp oil over the <em>baingan<\/em> and roast it over low flame on all sides till it becomes soft.<\/p>\n<p>Peel and mash the <em>baingan<\/em> and keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a <em>kadhai<\/em>, add onions and fry till they turn translucent.<\/p>\n<p>Add ginger, garlic, green chili and fry for 2 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomatoes and fry for 2-3 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>baingan<\/em>, salt, turmeric powder, <em>garam masala<\/em> and saute for 4-5 min.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baingan also known with its other names Brinjal or Eggplant or Aubergine is used in Indian cooking to make many dishes.
