If there is one actress who can be vehemently christened as the epitome of versatility, it is irrefutably the \u201cQueen\u201d of bollywood, Kangana Ranaut. Right from her looks to the kind of roles she has chosen, it has always been marked with unconventionality. Just a\u00a0month ago we saw her as a demure lady in Queen<\/em> and here she is with an absolutely contrasting avatar of a dacoit! Revolver Rani<\/em> is yet another quirky addition to her unusual trek of films. It is a dark comedy that satirizes power and politics in the backdrop of a bizarre love story.<\/p>\n

Plot:<\/strong> After having lost the elections to a corrupt politician, dacoit Alka Singh decides to expose him and comes out victorious. But at the same time she falls in love with an aspiring actor who eventually changes her priorities. Can this love story thrive amidst the ugly game of politics? Is it possible for a dacoit to come out clean off a dirty past? Revolver Rani<\/em> is the answer to these questions.<\/p>\n

Performances:<\/strong> Describing Kangana\u2019s performance as excellent will certainly be an understatement! She has very much proved to her contemporaries that in order to thrive in bollywood, having an ability to act graciously is much more important than having a good diction. She is indeed one of the finest actors bollywood has ever seen.<\/p>\n

Vir Das has always been praised for his unbeatable comic timing but Revolver Rani<\/em> gives him a chance to break the norm. We get to see a completely mean side of this actor.<\/p>\n

Another commendable performer, who gives a good support to the leads, is Piyush Mishra. He is an excellent player when it comes to showing off the meanness of a politician.<\/p>\n

Music:<\/strong> Just like its every aspect, even the music of the film is very unconventional. The tracks are very situational and uncanny. Only the title track has the power to stay in your mind.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Good:<\/strong> Kangana\u2019s yet another power-packed performance that is surely going to leave a mark on the audience, the impressive upturn of gender roles shown in the film and the clever motive behind a satirical direction are the three notable pinnacles of the film.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Bad:<\/strong> The stretchy length of the film, a completely undone plot, a ruffled up love story with uninteresting romantic sequences and a poor music score ruins a potential classic.<\/p>\n

Revolver Rani<\/em> is something out of the box, both as a film as well as in terms of its direction. Instead of exhibiting the typical flavor of a bollywood film, it brings novelty to the Indian Cinema. Films like these may not have a high commercial value and are often rejected by the audience but the critical value of such films gives meaning to the concept of film making. Watch it only if you are genuine fan of Kangana\u2019s acting skills, otherwise give it a miss!<\/p>\n

Verdict:<\/strong> Not for the common audience which prefers typical bollywood masala!<\/p>\n
