They only come for a few weeks during the onset of summer, and it is time to make use of them in any form you can. For a perfect weekend dish, I made Plum Mutton and served it with some chapatis. Plums gave a nice sweet and sour taste to the mutton, adding a great appeal. In fact, since they soaked up the mutton juices, I was searching for plum pieces more than mutton in the curry! This is an absolute delight to have and you must give it a try with this Plum Mutton Recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All you need is (serves 4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 1 cup (sliced)<\/p>\n<p>Ginger garlic paste &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Dahi<\/em> &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste.<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Mutton &#8211; 1\/2 kg (curry cut)<\/p>\n<p>Plums &#8211; 3 to 4 (cut into thick wedges)<\/p>\n<p>Fresh coriander to garnish<\/p>\n<h2>Plum Mutton Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Preparation time: 10 min<\/p>\n<p>Cooking time: 45 min<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat oil in a pressure pan, add onions and fry till light brown.<\/li>\n<li>Add ginger-garlic paste and fry till golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Add mutton and cook on high heat for 4-5 min till brown.<\/li>\n<li>Mix coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, turmeric powder, and\u00a0<em>garam masala<\/em> powder in <em>dahi<\/em> and whisk well.<\/li>\n<li>Add the spiced <em>dahi<\/em> to the curry and mix.<\/li>\n<li>Add 1 cup water and close the pressure pan to cook for 3-4 whistles or till mutton is cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Cool and open the pressure pan and add plum wedges and boil for 4-5 min.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plums are in season and they remind me of my childhood when we used to enjoy them.
