Earlier, only Brahim boys were allowed to chant it. Since a mantra is a universal prayer, now there is no demarcation of any kind as everyone can recite it freely. As per Vedic scriptures, the Gayatri Mantra should be recited 108 times at three periods of the day i.e. morning, noon and evening (dusk).<\/p>\n<p>Gayatri is the primitive aspect of the Mother Goddess who is considered as \u201cthe essence of the Vedas\u201d. The Gayatri mantra exposes that inner vision to you with which you may understand God. Also it is believed to be a protector of a person from any kind of harm. The Gayatri mantra also improves the power of speech. Also, the Gayatri mantra is considered to be a reliever, fulfiller of all desires, and wards off your miseries. Ignorance goes away by reciting Gayatri Mantra in the morning, noon and evening. It will clean up your mind and soul.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Meaning of the Gayatri Mantra\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Om Bhur Bhuvah Svaha<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is known as \u201cMahavyahriti\u201d and not considered as a part of main Gayatri mantra. This expresses nature and qualities of God.<\/p>\n<p>Om \u2013 Bramhman, the Supreme name of God, Bhur \u2013 The physical plane, Existence, God is self and self-existent, Bhuvah \u2013 The astral plane, consciousness of God \u2013 Svaha \u2013 The celestial plane, God is present everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Let us all remember the Supreme Being who is the ruler of the physical, astral and celestial plane.
