Yet the arduous endeavours that they have been making to set their foot in this arena are undoubtedly praise-worthy. One of the notable exemplars of this statement is this latest addition called Alone! After scaring us with films like 1920 and Ragini MMS 2, Director Bhushan Patel is back with yet another spooky facet of horrex! An adaptation of the Thai film of the same name, Alone is a spine-chilling horror drama that intends to give you nightmares.

Plot: Conjoined since birth, Anjana and Sanjana are twin sisters who don’t want to get separated owing to their unconditional love for each other. However, an action of fate takes one away in the process of body separation. The deceased soul of Sanjana’s sister refuses to leave her and then begins the horrifying journey that leads to astounding revelations!

Performances: The ultimate queen of horror, Bipasha Basu shines bright throughout the film! To be able to carry out the double switch of characters is what shows her fine expertise in this realm. She looks terribly scary as Anjana and aesthetically stunning as Sanjana.

Television stud, Karan Singh Grover makes a good debut on the big screen. He looks unimaginably hot and dashing and adds a sterling freshness to the film. His acting skills may not be exceptional but definitely put up a good show.

Music: As a horrex film, Alone does not need to delve in to the musical aspect. Nonetheless, the music composers have done a fantastic job on their part. The songs are beautifully sung and written and go well with the film’s requirement. Best ones have to be Katra and Awaara indeed!

What’s Good: The film has some genuine bone-chilling moments which give you a jittering experience. The narration is crisp while the storyline has some amazing twists, interesting enough to keep you engaged. The music composition is quite captivating but what steals the show is an absolutely stunning climax that changes the entire course of the film.

What’s Bad: Despite a good attempt, the movie does not outshine as an exceptional horror flick. A few scenes tend to get repetitive. The first half is a little slow and confusing.

Bhushan Patel’s spanking adaptation of the Thai horror drama is a spooky fable with some genuinely jittering moments. The film is not an exceptional chiller but is definitely better than the others of this genre. It quite had the potential of becoming a gripping tale only if some fresh elements had been used to create an eerie effect. Nonetheless, Alone can be a decent watch this weekend!

Verdict: Watch Alone only if you are a fan of Bollywood horror drama!

Rating: ** and a half

Find here : Movies Releasing this Friday

2015 Recent Bollywood Movies Reviews

Bombay Velvet Movie Review
Piku Movie Review
Gabbar is Back Movie Review
Mr. X Movie Review
Ek Paheli Leela Movie Review
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy Movie Review
Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend Movie Review
Dum Laga Ke Haisha Movie Review
NH10 Movie Review

Release Date: 16th January 2015 Starring: Bipasha Basu, Karan Singh Grover Directed by: Bhushan Patel Music: Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon Duration: 2 hours 14 minutes The realm of horror cinema is one of those dimensions of film direction that the Indian filmmakers have not been able to excel upon.
