\"Redesigned<\/a>The internet-connected eyewear, Google Glass, which had been promoted as the most advanced innovation in wearable technology, has so far been a mystery for most of the people. The users acknowledged the glass with much keenness, but many remained astonished about what went wrong with its functionalities and styling. The unconventional appearance of the glass did not allow it to match with the surroundings so that it could be treated as an accessory to be used daily. According to the Forrester Research, there was a privacy concern with the glass among almost half of all consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The users got used to it only after a long time. But without taking any risk, the Google Inc. has it pulled off the shelves, though it has not completely put off the project. Instead, it will redesign this innovative and smart eyewear from the scratch. Also, unless and until the wearable gadget gets a full makeover, the company will not launch any pre-production models. Forrester analyst, J. P. Gownder said, \u201cGoogle needs to construct a consumer image for the product, and deal with privacy concerns if they want it to be mass market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Relaunch of Google Glass <\/span><\/h2>\n

Though it is not clear when the company will relaunch the redesigned Google Glass, it is sure that it will have to face a tough competition from the other wearable computing devices by the time it returns to the consumer market.<\/span><\/p>\n

This project will be under the guidance of the veteran marketing executive Ivy Ross who has experience in the world-famous fashion companies like Gap Inc. and Calvin Klein. This veteran jewellery expert will definitely utilise her expertise in crafting a smart wearable glass, which will both look good and limit the visibility of the computing unit. She will report to Tony Fadell. Fadell, who had a very significant role in designing the Apple iPod, runs Nest Labs, the smart-appliance maker, which was acquired by Google Inc. last year for $3.2 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tony Fadell said in a statement that, \u201cEarly Glass efforts have broken ground and allowed us to learn what\u2019s important to consumers and enterprises alike. I\u2019m excited to be working with Ivy to provide direction and support as she leads the team and we work together to integrate those learnings into future products”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hopefully, the new redesigned Google Glass will appeal to the masses, and will establish its strong foothold among the consumers. The whole world will witness a complete revolution in wearable computing gadgets segment, which will reinstate Google Glass as an everyday accessory.<\/span><\/p>\n
