For a nation that is still striving to uphold the dignity of women, a film like NH10<\/em> could only have been the need of the hour! Taking up an issue that has been simmering across the country for ages, director Navdeep Singh brings to us the gut-wrenching reality of our society.<\/p>\n

Plot:<\/strong> A loving couple, Meera and Arjun set out for weekend getaway. Witnessing a ghastly crime on their way, they get strangulated in a situation that ravages their life.<\/p>\n

Performances:<\/strong> NH10<\/em> is hands down Anushka Sharma\u2019s best performance so far! Breaking off the stereotypical image of a heroine, she bravely proves that it isn\u2019t always necessary to have a hero in the film. With such an honest delivery of work, she surely deserves a bow!<\/p>\n

Neil Bhoopalam does a fairly good job in bringing realism to the film. He is perfect with his expressions and takes the film in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Darshan Kumaar, seen as loving husband in Mary Kom, turns devishly cruel in this one. With a firm grip over his character, he looks disturbingly scary and brutal.<\/p>\n

Deepti Naval, even in a short sequence, manages to give you goose bumps with her performance. As a ruthless matriarch of the family, she stuns you with her coldness of expressions.<\/p>\n

Music:<\/strong> Just as the film, the music album of NH10<\/em> is dark and gloomy. The tracks have been composed in sync with the theme and are unconventional in their making. The lyrics are heavy yet beautiful and leave a lasting impression on the listener. Best from the lot: Chhil Gaye Naina<\/em>!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Good:<\/strong> The gruesome reality that the film is based upon musters a great deal of appreciation.. The script is impactful and is accentuated by perfect editing. The screenplay and cinematography have been taken care of so well that you might actually forget your surroundings for two hours. A stellar performance by Anushka Sharma leaves you in much awe of the film.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s bad:<\/strong> With enough brutality, gore and horror in the film, NH10<\/em> is definitely not for the weak-hearted. The film has some minor shortcomings in terms of the story, but an overpowering Anushka fills in the gaps perfectly.<\/p>\n

NH10<\/em> is an unapologetically cruel presentment of a harsh reality that lies buried under the veil of urban civility. A society, which is gliding sky-high when it comes to modernity and development, is still battling a barbaric mentality. What advancement do we really talk about, when issues like casteism, honour killing, gender equality and patriarchy are eating up the society at a frightful pace. Anushka Sharma deserves to be lauded for taking up a film like this on her shoulders and doing enough justice to the role. NH10<\/em> should be watched for the girl power that our nation is striving to acknowledge!<\/p>\n

Verdict:<\/strong> NH10<\/em> is an overwhelming film that should not be missed!<\/p>\n
