There are several ways with which you can make it and whichever method you use, this veggie is sure to please your palate. Today, I made a <em>do pyaza<\/em> with it. <em>Bhindi do pyaza<\/em> is a north Indian dish which derives its name from the double quantity of onions used to make it. Onions are fried in oil and <em>bhindi<\/em> and <em>masalas<\/em> are added to make a delicious stir fry. We enjoyed this lovely dish with a bowl of yellow <em>dal<\/em> fry and <em>chapattis<\/em>. It&#8217;s the perfect comfort food for our family. Do give this recipe a try. I am sure you will love it too.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Bhindi Do Pyaza<\/h2>\n<p>Vegetable oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Whole red chilies &#8211; 4-6<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 3 cups ( thinly sliced )<\/p>\n<p><em>Bhindi<\/em> &#8211; 500 gm<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder &#8211; 4 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p><em>Amchoor<\/em> powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<h2>How to make Bhindi Do Pyaza<\/h2>\n<p>Wash and wipe the <em>bhindi<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Cut into small slices.<\/p>\n<p>Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy bottom pan.<\/p>\n<p>When the oil is hot, add the whole red chilies.<\/p>\n<p>Fry for 20-23 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>Add<em> the bhindi<\/em>, coriander powder, red chili powder and salt.<\/p>\n<p>Cover and cook till the <em>bhindi<\/em> is done.<\/p>\n<p>Keep stirring in between.<\/p>\n<p>Add <em>amchoor<\/em> powder and cook for 2-3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot with <em>paranthas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Always wipe the <em>bhindi<\/em> after washing.<\/p>\n<p>Always cook the <em>bhindi<\/em> on very low heat.<\/p>\n<p>If your flame is not too low, keep an iron <em>tava<\/em> beneath the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Always add <em>amchoor<\/em> powder at the end.<\/p>\n<p>Do not add water to the pan, otherwise the <em>bhindi<\/em> will become sticky.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bhindi or ladyfinger is a very popular vegetable in India.
