About Bangistan<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Clashing its release with Tom Cruise starrer, Hollywood sensation \u2018Mission Impossible \u2013 Rogue Nation\u2019, Bangistan was earlier scheduled for 17th of April 2015. Written and directed by Karan Anshuman, the movie is a satire on global terrorism and fundamentalism and even got banned in UAE and Pakistan as the censor boards find its content offensive.<\/p>\n

Plot:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pulkit Samrat (Praveen Chaturvedi) and Riteish Deshmukh (Hafeez Bin Ali) play roles of suicide bombers from extreme religious faiths – Hindu and Muslim – living in a fictional land called Bangistan. Both are on a mission to change the world and establish world peace. But do they succeed? That’s the story!<\/p>\n

Bangistan Music:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With a movie like Bangistan, you are not sure what kind of music one should\u00a0expect. Ram Sampath has done the music of the movie and the album comprises of seven songs none of which is exceptional. Sona Mohapatra’s, Shadaab Faridi and Abhishek Nailwal’s ‘Ishq Karenge’ is a fusion qawalli that actually does not features in the film. ‘Maula’ and ‘Meri Zidd’ have decent lyrical value.<\/p>\n

Performance:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The message which the movie tried to convey deserved a much better script. A lazy plot, shoddy dialogs and weak roles actually leaves a little room for actors to perform.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0his notable performances in \u2018Ek Villain\u2019 and his own Marathi movie \u2018Lai Bhaari\u2019, Riteish Deshmukh makes Bangistan a tolerable watch. His talent and comic timing could have been better utilized in the story.<\/p>\n

While Riteish Deshmukh is still endearing in his act, Pulkit Samrat went over the top in his performance.<\/p>\n

Jacqueline Fernandez sways her cameo in the movie with ease and was more of a respite from rest of the movie.<\/p>\n

The film also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, polish actor Tomasz Karolak, Zachary Coffin and Arya Babbar, among others.<\/p>\n

What’s good:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The message Bangistan is trying to convey is the only strong point about the entire movie. Both the actors, Pulkit Samrat and Riteish Deshmukh, tried well to pull off their otherwise weak roles they had to play.<\/p>\n

What’s bad:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The content and narration of the story could not do any justice to the satirical intent which would have triggered the making of this film. Only a few scenes will make you grin in the name of ‘comedy’. With only a few engaging scenes, rest of the movie is loosely knit and gives you enough room for restroom breaks or to check your phones. From the story, to the lousy dialogs and jokes everything about the movie will want you to walk out or wait for the movie to wrap up asap.<\/p>\n

Verdict:<\/strong> Bangistan seems to actually be a failed attempt to meet the expectations of many. Instead of banging the audience with humor, puns and sarcasm, it was a tedious watch. But if you are Riteish Deshmukh fan, it might not disappoint you much.<\/p>\n
