Location<\/strong>:
\nJantar Mantar is located in the posh Connaught Place area, on Parliament Street in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

History<\/strong>:
\nJantar Mantar is in total a set of 13 intricately constructed instruments. They were constructed by the then Maharaja of Jaipur, Jai Singh II. This fascinating piece of architecture was, research posits, probably constructed in 1724. The purpose of this early Eighteenth-century marvel was the compilation of astronomical data.<\/p>\n

The complex can be divided into 3 main features: the\u00a0Samrat Yantra<\/em>, the\u00a0<\/i>Jayaprakash Yantra<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0Mishra Yantra<\/em>. Other such structures can similarly be found in the cities of Jaipur, Varanasi, Ujjain and Mathura. These were also constructed on the orders of Maharaja Jai Singh II.<\/p>\n

When to visit<\/strong>:
\nThe Jantar Mantar is open all days including Saturdays and Sundays from sunrise to sunset.<\/p>\n

General Information<\/strong>:
\nThe entry to this site is ticketed for everyone above 15 years of age. Price for a ticket varies from Rs. 5 for Indian citizens to Rs. 100 for non-Indian citizens.<\/p>\n

Tips and Trivia<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

The structures’ readings can no longer be taken because of the taller buildings in the vicinity.<\/p>\n

Do fix half a day to look around the structure and the rest of the unmissable places located nearby.<\/p>\n

If travelling with children, then this is a good place to visit.<\/p>\n
