About Singh is Bliing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Khiladi Akshay Kumar teamed up once again with Prabhu Deva to rock us all with \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019<\/em>. Earlier, we have seen their union in \u2018Rowdy Rathore\u2019 and enjoyed it. Once again Akshay is playing the role of a Sikh boy after \u2018Singh is King\u2019<\/em>. Akki, along with the cast of his film, was seen promoting \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0on television reality shows. Releasing the movie \u00a0on 2 October, a national holiday, has given it a chance to attract more audience to theatres. Let\u2019s take a look at the review of the movie.<\/p>\n

Plot<\/strong><\/p>\n

Raftaar Singh (Akshay Kumar) is a fun-filled carefree Sardar, who always gets scolded by his father for not doing anything. \u00a0After being forced by his father to work for his friend, Raftaar goes to Goa. There he meets Sara (Amy Jackson), who is from Romania. As Raftaar can\u2019t speak English and Sara does not understand Hindi, he hires Emily (Lara Dutta) as a translator. Marx (Kay Kay Menon) is the villain in Sara\u2019s life. How Raftaar gets the love of his life and how he proves himself as a responsible man is the main plot of the movie.<\/p>\n

Performances<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is always fun to watch Akshay with his crazy comic antics. He perfectly portrays the role of a silly and funny character and carries it off really well. There are no second thoughts about his acting skills in both comedy and action. In \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019<\/em> too he was comfortable in his role and has given his best. He was full of energy and strength throughout the film. However, this could not be rated as one of his best performances; he has given much better performances in the past. But he is not to be blamed for this as the director could have portrayed him a little better.<\/p>\n

Amy Jackson, who had been barely seen in Bollywood so far, was the perfect fit for the role of a Romanian girl. There is little to talk about her acting skills as she does not speak much in the movie and her expressions are not very impressive. Amy has been given a good opportunity to show her action skills. In fact, Amy has done more fight scenes than Akshay in \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

It was a delight to see Lara Dutta make a comeback! Where had she hidden her comic talent in the past? She was too good in her performance and in almost every scene of hers you will surely have a laugh. Her acting is commendable whether it is her expressions, her style, or the way she delivers her dialogues.<\/p>\n

Kay Kay Menon, who plays the villain somewhat disappoints. Firstly, it is difficult to understand that how come an actor like him with so much caliber, took up such a role? The intensity of his acting skills has been seen in his previous projects, but in this movie he has been shown as a non-serious villain. Some punch lines delivered by him like \u201cI am too good\u201d<\/em> and \u201cEasy is Boring, <\/em>do bring humour. <\/em><\/p>\n

Kunal Kapoor, veteran actor Shashi Kapoor\u2019s son, has made a comeback in the films after 30 years. He plays the role of Amy\u2019s father but appears very less on screen. He has performed fairly well. Rati Agnitori looks fit in her role as Akshay\u2019s mother. All other supporting actors have done justice to their particular role.<\/p>\n

Director Prabhu Deva could have done a better job. He has not been able to create the same magic with Akshay that he did in \u2018Rowdy Rathore\u2019. <\/em>The reason behind this could be the weak script of \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019.<\/em>\u00a0 In making a balance between action and comedy and also in adding drama to it as well, Prabhu to an extent has messed it up all at times.<\/p>\n

Music<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are eight songs in total in the music album and almost every song is catchy, peppy and makes you groove. The songs like \u201cTung Tung\u201d and \u201cSingh and Kaur\u201d are alreading ruling the music charts. \u201cDil Kare Chu Che\u201d has both funny lyrics and choreography. \u201cMahi Aaja\u201d, originally sung by RDB Group, was a popular track; now it has been added in the album of Singh is Bliing <\/em>in three versions.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Good?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Akshay Kumar\u2019s silliness and Lara\u2019s comedy will keep you entertained throughout the film. Cinematography of the movie is at its best- the locations of colourful Punjab and the beautiful Romania are eye-catchy. In the first half, there are few instances where you will laugh out loud, like the scene between Akshay and a lion. \u00a0Sunny Leone, B N Sharma and Gurpreet Guggi have played a surprised special appearance in the movie.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Bad?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The weak script is a biggest hurdle in the way of \u2018Singh is Bliing\u2019<\/em> becoming a blockbuster hit. Editing should have been tighter as the movie seemed to drag in the second half. Songs just appear any time and any moment; at times they looked like they have been stuffed in the script.<\/p>\n

Verdict:<\/strong> Beautiful locations, romance, action, drama, comedy, music, fun \u2013 Singh is Bliing<\/em> has every element to keep you entertained for 2.5 hours. Go watch it with your family or friends, you will surely not feel disappointed. This Singh definitely Bling!<\/p>\n
