It can be fried using <em>desi ghee<\/em>, <em>vanaspati ghee<\/em> or oil.\u00a0 Among the most traditional Punjabi Indian food which can be eaten in breakfast, lunch or dinner or anytime in between is <em>aloo ka paratha<\/em>. I hardly come across a person who does not have a liking towards this wonderful creation. I remember and cherish the times we traveled across the state of Punjab in our cars or in buses and stopping by the road-side <em>dhabas<\/em> to have various kind of <em>parathas<\/em> and specially <em>aloo ka paratha<\/em> made with <em>desi ghee<\/em> with more butter on the top. The <em>parathas<\/em> can be had with any curry \u00a0or veggie that you like or even only with some pickle (<em>aachar<\/em>) of your choice or yogurt (<em>dahi<\/em>). As you can already imagine, these <em>parathas<\/em> are bound to fill you up and keep you going for the day. I made this delicious <em>aloo ka paratha<\/em> and share this simple and straightforward way to enjoy them with family.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Aloo Ka Paratha<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Wheat flour &#8211; 2 cups<\/li>\n<li><em>Maida<\/em> &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li>Potato &#8211; 4 (boiled and grated)<\/li>\n<li>Green coriander &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Green chili &#8211; 3-4 (finely chopped)<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<li><em>Garam masala<\/em> &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Red chili powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li><em>Amchoor<\/em> powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li><em>Ghee<\/em> for frying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to make Aloo Ka Paratha<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix wheat flour and <em>maida<\/em> together.<\/li>\n<li>Using water, knead to form a soft dough.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and keep the dough for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Mix grated potato, green coriander, green chili, salt, <em>garam masala<\/em>, red chili powder and <em>amchoor<\/em> powder in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Mix nicely to make a filling.<\/li>\n<li>Make lemon-sized balls from the dough and roll a little bit.<\/li>\n<li>Keep 2 tbsp of filling in the center and bring the ends together.<\/li>\n<li>Dust and roll the <em>paratha<\/em> to approximately 6 inches.<\/li>\n<li>Fry the paratha on a <em>tava<\/em> using <em>ghee<\/em> on both the sides till slightly browned.<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot with curd and pickle.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paratha is an Indian flat bread made with wheat flour and pan fried on a tava.
